Listeners Top 20 Albums of 2002

Thank you all for your lists! You’ll be able to hear the results on the last Sex to 9 of the year on Friday December 27th. My Top 20 albums of 2002 will be aired on Friday December 20th and both lists will be available on the site.

I know you’re all dying to know who is No.1 but you’ll have to wait a bit longer. It’s been a close race though I can tell you that!

Dark Tranquillity on the show

On Friday December the 6th I will be airing the interview with Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity recorded before their awesome and mind blowing gig in London.

Back on the show

Thank you all for all your lovely messages when I was ill.

As you heard today I’m feeling much better now and back on the show!

Let’s hope that Sex to 9 stays a cold free zone from now on so I don’t have to miss any more shows

A big cheer for In Flames

A big thank you to Pain, Soilwork and most especially In Flames for a wonderful day last Sunday, a great performance and for being so caring and awesome to all of us

To the promoters of the gig that refused to upgrade the gig to the London Astoria after it had been announced, that put the bands in a hole they call ‘dressing room’, that didn’t provide any catering to three bands that had been travelling the whole night: shame on you! You give this country a bad name and you obviously don’t know the meaning of the word hospitality.

To all the listeners that went down: you are all stars! Thank you guys for one of the best vibes I have seen during a gig. You sang along loud and proud and your voices were recorded for posterity. You made us all proud

Interview with Eternal Oath

On Friday October the 4th you’ll be able to hear on the show the interview with Swedes Eternal Oath plus tracks from their awesome new album Righteous.

New section on the show!

I am very pleased to confirm that starting this Friday we will have a new section on the show featuring the Top three albums of the month according to the great Canadian metal magazine Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles.
My special thanks to the editor Tim Henderson for his collaboration with Sex to 9.
You can find a link to their web page on Our Links page, I recommend it to all metal fans.

Support Sexto9.com

You can now click the album covers in the favorites section and top albums and purchase them online at cduniverse.com, (yes it’s american… but they stock a lot of good stuff at really good prices!) all proceeds will help this website continue, (we’re hoping it will pay our hosting fees…) So if you’re planning to buy some new albums, buy through our links and help sexto9.com continue.

Photo Gallery

Ok, I’ve managed to find some time to add another photo gallery from the Opeth/Arch Enemy/Withering Surface gig at the Mean Fiddler. You can view the Gallery here [Opeth Gallery] Thanks to Stephan Norbert for taking photos and donating them while I was backstage taking pics of Maria with Arch Enemy! Hope everyone enjoys!

Show’s playlist available soon

You’ll all be happy to hear that the show’s playlist will be available on the site very soon.
That should make things easier for your poor ears during the show (I know catching all those names on air with my accent is quite a challenge!) and ensures that you all know what goodies to get on your record shopping sprees.
You can access it here for now: [Latest Playlist]

Wacken 2002

To all of you that are going to Wacken Open Air just a little message to say: have a great time and rock like crazy!
For those of us who are staying behind this year, there will be a little report from Beardy Weirdy live from Wacken on Friday’s show.
