New additions to Sex to 9…

Here’s a photo of the new additions to the Sex to 9 family, just in case you hear them in the background during the show… now you know!

Happy Birthday Sex to 9

This weekend we’re celebrating the show’s anniversary. It feels like it was only yesterday but it really was 6 years ago that Sex to 9 with Maria was born and heard on the airwaves for the first time.

And what a ride it has been! I have been privileged to meet some of the best and brightest musicians and work with some of the most talented people in the industry. To all of them my most sincere gratitude.

Moreover, I’ve been honoured and blessed with the most supportive and dedicated audience. Without you, the listeners, the show would simply not exist. You’ve created the Sex to 9 family and I’m forever grateful for your knowledge, your tireless enthusiasm and your friendship. Thank you guys, these 6 years are as much yours as mine!

Finally, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my beloved Yoda. Without his knowledge, his unconditional support and his endless encouragement (including some well needed ‘kick up the ass’), the show would have not returned to the airwaves after its ‘imposed’ sabbatical. What a lucky lucky woman I am!

So here’s to many more years of wonderful Fridays and great music!

See you all on the airwaves!

show cut short…

Unfortunately due to a power cut in the Totalrock studio the show was cut short. We expect tomorrow’s repeat will be of an older show due to time constraints… ah well, I guess we get to play a lot of the same stuff again next week! Until then…

Tommy’s day on Friday

This Friday (March 11) is going to be Tommy’s day on TotalRock. We’ll be celebrating this wonderful man’s life and his enormous contribution to our lives.

The show will be from 6 to 8 pm UK time and we would like you to send your messages and your memories of Tommy with that special track that he introduced you to or that will always remind you of him.

You can put them on the forum or email them to me so that I can make sure we have the tracks.

Friday is going to be a very special day on TotalRock with a ‘jewel’ for all at 10pm UK time. You don’t want to miss it!

website update

Ok, I’ve changed a lot of things on the way this website looks and is setup, no more frames, and it should be easy to direct link to specific pages without losing the menu etc. All the old pages are still there for the moment, but eventually will be redirecting to the new site version.

We’re working on putting some article archives of Maria’s column from Rock Hard (ES) and other Spanish material.

The Kreator/Dark Tranquillity/Hatesphere/Ektomorf Gig review is online in both Spanish & English along with some photos. Click the review link on the menu bar or use these direct links to the language of your choice: Spanish English

Maria interviewed for a Spanish radio show

This week Maria was interviewed for the Spanish radio show "Simfonia Metallica" It’s a bit of a role reversal considering it’s usually her who is doing the interviewing! We’ll post more details of the time/date of the broadcast as soon as we know!

Update: the broadcast date should be 9th March, 2005.

Mille Petrozza on the show

On Friday Feb 25th you’ll be able to hear the interview with Kreator’s frontman Mille Petrozza during the show.

Photos and review of the gig in Bergara will also be able very soon

Interviews with Kreator and Dark Tranquillity

The gig in Bergara was excellent and it was great to meet the bands again after such a long time.

I’ll be airing the interview with Mikael Stanne on Friday the 18th and the one with Mille Petrozza on Friday the 25th.

You’ll also be able to read the gig’s review and see the photos here very soon and the interviews in Spanish once they’ve been aired

Dark Tranquillity Competition

On Friday the show won’t be live as Yoda and I will be at the Kreator, Dark Tranquillity, Hatesphere & Ektomorf in Bergara (Sala Jam).

The show will be pre-recorded and we’ll be running a very cool Dark Tranquillity competition, courtesy of Century Media

All the details will be given during the show so listen and don’t miss this chance!

We’ll also be talking to the bands in Bergara so you’ll be able to hear the interviews on the show next week and read the full review of the gig on this very website.

See you on the airwaves!
